Tampa Vulkon 2004

Thursday, June 17
I had gotten into Tampa on Wednesday afternoon, and hung out with Froggy, scarybunnies, and her sister. Thursday evening, Cate and Kat Eyz both arrived, and we all (along with stine69) went down to Ybor City to see Sister Hazel. The concert was a good time, but we were all so tired, and headed back to the hotel to get some sleep since we were going to Busch Gardens the next morning.

Friday, June 18
At 7:30am I was literally dragged from my nice, comfy bed, by Cate...whom I promptly mooned. 15 minutes later I was dressed, sun screened up, and ready to go. The car ride over to the park was interesting, with Froggy, Cate, Deb, George Hertzberg, Hanna, and myself..and the conclusion that you can "never leave a good carcass behind" was come to quite fast. We wound up being 3rd in line to get into the parking lot (as it wasn't open yet) and proceeded to mock number 4. I believe it went something like: "Screw you, number 4!!!"

The park kicked some serious ass. The weather was perfect..hot, but not too sunny..and the lines for all the rides were pretty short, so we got to go on all the big roller coasters twice. I hate "flume" type rides, so I hung out and was "mommy" and held everyone's stuff while they got wet. Sadly, later, I was forced to wring out my own crotch as the victim of the river rapids....and George mocked me. So at lunch, I threw a dinner roll at him, to which he retaliated.

We got back to the hotel around 3:30-ish, and were all beat. I was too tired to even register, so Deb had to do that for me. I passed the hell out. I woke up in just enough time to get dressed for the cocktail party..and down we went. Cocktail was a good time. Quality time was spent with the bar. Oh yeah...the guests were cool too. Leary, George, Camden, Mark (who told me to "F" off, lol) all hung out for a while. I got my quality chat time, and then left them alone to mingle with people they DON'T know.

The cocktail party was promptly followed by karaoke, which I was finally talked into doing. It couldn't have had anything to do with the 7 drinks I had already had, could it? I got my butt on stage and sang "Like A Virgin" because the song selections they had for girls SUCKED. I did alright, I think..and placed 2nd, and the kick-ass black guy that sang "Stand By Me" won. He deserved it. The usual debauchery went on on stage when I went up to get my trophy. Someone slapped mine and Camden's asses...I was later informed it was George. Bite me, Hertzberg.

After all that craziness, we went up to the room to party. At some point Leary, George and Camden all showed up..along with some of our kewl friends (waves hi to Alabama, Marie, Rosey, Tammy, and everyone else...sorry, I was drunk!!) 5 more drinks later, I was done for the night..and couldn't even remember my name. It was bad.

Saturday morning was greeted with me being pretty d**n sick, but I got through it, with a few false alarms. Cate and I went to get our photo ops with Emma and Christian, while Deb headed down to the autograph room to P.A. for George. After getting our photos, autographs, and watching the Q&A with Leary, George, Mark and Camden, etc..Cate and I sat and sold KANE merchandise for a while, and then went up to the room to get dressed for the banquet.

I had chosen to sit with Leary, Deb with George, Froggy with Leary, and Cate & Hanna with J..and since our badges were all so low, we got our top choices. Good times were had. Can I take a moment to say that no matter what everyone saw, it was MARK'S TABLE that started the great "Confectionary Battle of 2004"!? Yes it was, as George and Deb said, "excessive"..and it seemed like everyone kept turning around right as we fired back, so we looked guilty..but it was all on Mark. And did anyone see myself, Froggy and Leary cleaning it all up? lol

The KANE concert was pretty darn cool. I have seen the full band, but it was nice to see Chris and Steve stripped down..ahem..I mean..acoustic. I had a good time.

Later that night, was yet another party in our room. But about 45 minutes into it, I received a phone call from Leary down in the green room, requesting that I bring booze. So Deb and I carried beer, Jack Daniels, and vodka down to the green room, to which we were welcomed into. J, Chris, Leary, George, and Mark were in there, along with some of their friends and people who were invited in. Everyone kept telling us to stay, but we had friends waiting up in our room at our own party, so I had one drink, and went back to then room. J informed me that he wouldn't have a hard time getting up in the morning because he was, and I quote, "The G". Whatever the hell that is!

The party Saturday night went until about 4:30am...with Camden hanging out a good portion of the night, and Christian, J, and Leary making a noisy appearance somewhere around 3am. When J was asked about being the "G", his response was "Oh no, that's all changed". O...K...

Sunday, June 20
Sunday morning was rough as usual.I stumbled out of bed and I think get my photo with J in what I wore to bed. The rest of the morning/afternoon was spent hanging out in the autograph room with Leary, George, Mark and Camden...and helping them out whenever they needed it. After they left to go to the airport, we headed into the ballroom to watch Chris and J on stage, who were pleasantly amusing! Theirs was the only Q&A we caught, with the exception of the stooges.

Sunday night was spent just hanging out, watching PORN, drinking, eating pizza, and reenacting "Chariots Of Fire" (don't ask).
