I and my 9 year old son Ronan met Angela and TQ at the Paley Center for Media at about 1 pm. We started talking with others as they came to get in line for the panel that was to happen at 7pm that night.
Ronan made many new friends in line, he would build, or have someone else build a ship out of Legos and then he would take them both up and down the line to have people vote on which would win and then have the ships duel it out then go announce the winner to everyone. Aren't kid's great?
Soon Lesser, Gina, and Helen came from Moonlightline.com and we all visited
about Moonlight and the panel that is coming up on the 22nd of this month.
We all thought up plans and devised where we would all sit so we would have a great chance to get up to the stage after the event, sadly the crew had to get back to filming the show that very evening so we only had a few seconds with them before they were rushed away..but more on that after the panel.
When we filed in Ronan and I sat in the middle of the second row(first row is saved for the actors) Ronan had brought the vampire puppet angel that was a copy of the puppet from Smile Time in season 5 of Joss Whedon's "ANGEL" Ronan decided every time he would clap he would clap the puppets hands together too, It was so cute.
All of the cast and Hart Hanson were announced and they came and sat down in the seats right in front of us, Emily was so close I could almost touch her neck with my foot LOL
They all looked awesome! Each of them had taken a few mins before the show to sign a few things and take some pics for the lucky few who were still outside (Lucky you Karin!)
There is a great rapport and respect among the cast, and you can see why
the banter works so well on screen, it’s because it works very well off screen too.
Bones was hit hard by the strike. It delayed some character exploration for “Zack” (Eric Millegan) relating to his character’s time in Iraq. Strangely enough, Eric’s real brother is going back for his second time in Iraq. The executive producers talked about how difficult it was to get the show started again after the strike, and how they were hoping that a SAG strike can be avoided.
"The banter between Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz was priceless. At times, it was easy to get lost and end up seeing the characters rather than the actors given some of the back and forth. I can’t even begin to explain how we got from the possibility of Bones and Booth getting married and having six children (remarkably slim, by the way) to David claiming that he wanted to have children with all the women on the show—but we got there, and it was pretty funny. I sincerely hope the footage ends up as one of the highlights featured at the Paley website.
They also spoke a bit about Kathy Reichs’ involvement. Apparently, she does review scripts and gives notes. They did note that Bones is not reflective of Kathy’s real life."(from http://katedating.blogspot.com/2008/04/bones-at-paley.html)
David kept looking at Stephen Nathan, one of the executive producers and saying"you were an actor?" He was flabbergasted that the guy had been an actor before becoming a producer, it was so funny. Stephen had played Jesus Christ on stage in the play Godspell, so one time David Boreanaz turns to Stephen and we all think he's going to say , "You were an actor?, but instead he says "You walked on water?" It was soooo funny, my friends and I all about fell out of our chairs laughing.
David was just hilarious for the entire panel.
Hart Hanson at one point says something that could be taken wrong and the audience laughs and he says coyly,"oh did I just make an Oral sex reference?" Then immediately he looks out at the crowd and sees my 9 year old and starts apologizing over and over the rest of the cast and all of us in the audience are laughing and he keeps saying it and then Eric or John say, "Hart, the trick is just ignore it and the kid won't even know what you just said." It was extremely funny.
Later during the Q and A portion of the panel, Ronan raises the puppet angel hand to ask a question, Hart says"That boy in the second row has a question" While they are bringing over a microphone, someone on stage says,"He is going to ask you what oral sex is Hart" We of course all starting laughing again, poor Hart turns so red, and luckily Ronan has no clue what anyone around him is laughing about, he just asks his question. "Where do you get the......ummm.. are the skeletons real you use in the show? The whole stage busts up giggling and Hart says no the FDC would frown on us digging up live corpses to use on thew show, and the rest of the cast including David each took a turn answering Ronan in some way, talking about the brothers who's job is to create the realistic skeletons, and David even offered Ronan a job in that department. Ronan was thrilled, he has been such a fan of David Boreanaz from Buffy and Angel and is just starting to get into Bones, so it was treat.
So the screening came after the panel, which was backwards from most
events, so Ronan ran out to the lobby to try and see David, but he and the other actors were back behind the glass deviders and security would not let anyone pass, Ronan was standing right by the glass and asked David if he could get a picture with him and David said yes so Ronan ran back behind the security guys and I tried to get the picture of the two of them, but the security kept moving me back so I thought it was too bad for Ronan, but then David's
assistant said, "Mam, you can come back" and she took our picture with David and he signed our picture, and we were able to tell him what huge fans our whole family is.
Ronan also got a picture with Tamara Taylor, Michaela Conlin, and Hart Hanson. Hart remembered meeting me at the Strike line and he thanked us for our continued support of the show, I told him thank you for making such a great show. and then the evening wrapped up. It was a dream come true!
Here is a great Q and A I found over on watch with Kristin ********SPOILERS********
Bones is back! The cast and writers of Fox's cult-hit romantic-comedy procedural gathered at the Paley Center Wednesday night in Los Angeles to celebrate the return of the show this Monday, April 14.
Before the panel, I hit up show runners Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan, as well as castmembers Emily Deschanel, Michaela Conlin, Eric Millegan and John Francis Daley, with your fan Q's about the rest of season three, the resolution of the Gormagon murder case, who might be getting married, and who could be getting up close and personal with another kiss...
Anna in Oklahoma City: "Player Under Pressure," the episode that was pulled last season, is scheduled to air this month. Did you end up shooting new footage to replace the Angela-Hodgins engagement scenes, or is the original episode going to air?
Conlin (Angela Montenegro): "We did shoot new footage. They were restricted by some of our haircuts and who had facial hair and who didn't, so Tamara [Taylor] (Dr. Camille Saroyan) and I had some scenes together, and then so did T.J. [Thyne] (Dr. Jack Hodgins) and I."
Nicole in Seattle: Will there be another Angela-Hodgins wedding this year?
Conlin: "Well, I will say that I know the ex-husband is arriving—I believe it's happening in the last two episodes of this season. And I'm hoping to sit in on the casting sessions. There are gonna be chemistry tests."
Hanson: "We're gonna find the best guy in the world for Angela. Whoever we finally cast, Jack has to be completely and utterly cowed when this guy finally walks in."
Elizabeth in Bangor, Maine: Exploring Booth's family was supposed to happen this season—will it happen next season instead?
Hanson: "Yes, definitely more next year. We'd love to find somebody great to play Booth's granddad—In a perfect world, James Garner. I think David is James Garner-ish. We'd love to do more with Booth's son, Parker, too."
Natalie in Chicago: When are Brennan and Angela going to have more heart-to-heart chats? Because I really love them together.
Deschanel (Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan): "We love when we get those heart-to-heart chats, and there's definitely some coming up. Actually, there's an episode about my father's trial, because he has murdered the deputy director of the FBI, blah blah blah, and Angela refuses to testify against my father. There are some really wonderful scenes between us in that episode."
Amy in Houston: Will the Gormagon storyline be wrapped up before the end of season three?
Hanson: "Yes."
Elise: Any chance that Zack is Gormagon?
Millegan (Dr. Zack Addy): "I am not Gormagon."
Annie: Is Naomi, from the paleontology department, Gormagon?
Nathan: "No. I think we are safe to eliminate Naomi from the paleontology department from the Gorgamon list."
Jessica in Phoenix: Is it possible that Dr. Sweets is Gormagon?
Daley (Dr. Lance Sweets): "Can't say. I will say that Gormagon is a very nice mean man/woman."
Tina in Connecticut: How many more episodes are you shooting?
Hanson: "We're currently shooting our second episode back from the strike, and that's the first two of the eight we are shooting through the end of June. The last two of that eight will be a two-parter shot on location in London, England—we hope. The two that we'll shoot in England are supposed to air as the season four premiere on August 26, and then the middle four episodes of those eight will air after the season premiere, in September."
Amber in the U.K.: What is the title of the season-three finale?
Hanson: "It is called 'The Pain in the Heart.' "
Marnie in Bodega Bay, Calif.: Will David Boreanaz ever direct an episode of Bones like he did when he was on Angel?
Yes! According to Hart Hanson during the panel, David will direct an episode in season four.
Mrs. Lee: I know they will have to deal with the Christmas kiss, but will there be other kisses for them to deal with?
Deschanel: "I can't really say. Let's just say that [the Christmas kiss] makes us feel very awkward—and we have to face some emotions..."
Julie in Boston: Are there any more kisses coming up?
Hanson: "Yes, there are kisses coming up for people you care about."
